Fat in our food

Fat consists of fatty acids and glycerine (triglycerides). The fatty acids are differentiated according to their length (short-chain, medium-chain, long-chain), and according to whether they are saturated or unsaturated.

Reducing fat properly
  • Little animal fat (cholesterol!)
  • Watch out for hidden fat, such as in sausage, cheese, chocolate
  • More vegetable fat (such as oil in salad)
  • Use little spreading and frying fat (coated pans!)
  • Eat more low-fat products rich in carbohydrates
  • (PowerBar Performance has only 2 grams of fat)
Reducing fat properly does not mean to do without entirely! After all, fat is an important flavouring agent, and eating is pleasure as well…
